List of Indoor Climbing Venues in London

Climbing demands focus. Besides time and money problem I also have another disadvantage... I lived in Tooting Broadway, really south west and far away from any climbing place. One day I decided to find the best places near here, I went to almost all climbing walls in a range of an hour (or a long hour) from home to check the best ones and here is a small list of where to climb in London.. there are still many other places, climbing here is very popular, but those are my prefered ones.

Brixton Recreation Centre
27 Brixton Station Rd (near Brixton tube station)
London, SW9 8QQ, United Kingdom
+44 20 79269779
You can pay 40 a month or 6 pounds a visit but first you got to do a safety test. They have a auto-belay device but never ever change the lines. The only advantage is that is 30 minutes from my house and that's it. Silly place just to pump your arms. Another good point is that they are open from 6am and is 100% nobody will be climbing with you. No overghangs, just slabs and a small flat bouldering section.Brixton wall is from a company called Climb in London, once you become a member you can climb in all otherClimb in London's walls with a reduced price. They have quite a few around the city.

Crystal Palace National Sport Centre

Ledrington Road, Crystal Palace, SE19 2BB (next to Crystal Rail Station)
It's a pain in the ass to get there but it's a really cool place for bouldering, and very cheap. It was about 4 pounds a visit. It's very different place to climb because they just have features, no holds or jugs. It's not what you expect to find in a climbing wall, it's hard and not easy to see the routes. It's not really a good option for people starting in the sport.

The Castle

Green Lanes, Stoke Newington, N4 2HA
They used to charge about 60p/month. It's a really cool and expensive place build inside an old water station. Apart from the price, they only open from 2pm on week days, and it's really up North. Far...

Mile End Wall

Haverfield Road, Bow, E3 5BE (near Mile End Tube Station)
They used to have a reasonable price, about 35p/month but for me it would take the same houras Westway, so I rather go there wich is a much better place, specially you like to lead. I have not beenthere to give any opinion regarding it.

The Arch Climbing Wall

A bouldering place near Tower Bridge, some friends have been there and told me it's quite cool. They charge 40 pounds a month.

Westway Climbing Wall

1 Crowthorne Road, W10 6RP (near Latimer Road tube Station / Hammersmith city line)

I pay 40p/month. The visit is quite expensive, about 10 pounds so the month is much better deal. Huge place, the kind of place that makes you want to climb. Very cool atmosphere, and better opening times. 1h from my house but really worth it.Thursdays: 8am - 10pm Other Weekdays (Mon, Tue, Weds, Fri): 9.30am - 10pm Sat & Sunday: 10am - 8pm

There are many other places to climbing in the city like Swiss Cottage, The Aspire Centre and Ethos Climbing Wall but I did not go to check this places because they were really out of hand.
